Indications
- Add-on therapy for stable angina pectoris
- Symptomatic treatment in adults
- Inadequately controlled by first-line antianginal therapies
- Intolerant to first-line antianginal therapies
Pharmacology
- First 3-keto acyl CoA thiolase inhibitor
- Metabolic anti-ischemic agent
- Inhibits fatty acid pathway
- Inhibits 3-keto acyl CoA thiolase enzyme
- Transfers oxygen to glucose pathway
- Aerobic oxidation of glucose
- Prevents angina pectoris
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dose of Trimetazidine is 35 mg twice daily
- 20 mg tablet thrice daily during meals
- Assess benefit after three months
- Discontinue if no treatment response

- No interaction with calcium antagonists
- No interaction with nitrates
- No interaction with heparin
- No interaction with hypolipidemic agents
- No interaction with digitalis preparation
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to active substance
