Composition
- Each tablet contains Calcium Carbonate USP 1250 mg (Coral source)
- Each tablet contains Vitamin D USP 200 IU
- Each DX tablet contains Calcium Carbonate USP 1500 mg (Coral source)
- Each DX tablet contains Vitamin D USP 400 IU
- Each effervescent tablet contains Coral Calcium 1500 mg
- Each effervescent tablet contains Vitamin D3 400 IU as Cholecalciferol USP
Pharmacology

- Clinical evidence supports the use of Calcium for Osteoporosis prevention
- Vitamin D aids in Calcium absorption and bone formation
- Coral Calcium has similar chemical structure to human bone for better absorption
- Vitamin D3 aids in maintaining Calcium balance in the body
Dosage & Administration
- One tablet once or twice daily with plenty of water
- Taking on a full stomach ensures better absorption
- Dissolve 1 effervescent tablet in a glass of water and drink orally
- Stir the solution with a spoon before drinking
Interaction
- Thiazide diuretics reduce urinary excretion of calcium
- Systemic corticosteroids reduce calcium absorption
- Simultaneous treatment with ion exchange resins may reduce vitamin D absorption
- Calcium carbonate may interfere with the absorption of tetracycline preparations
- Hypercalcaemia may increase the toxicity of cardiac glycosides during treatment
Contraindications
- Hypercalcemia and hyperparathyroidism
- Hypercalciuria and nephrolithiasis
- Hypersensitivity to the components
- Severe renal insufficiencies
- Concomitant digoxin therapy

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Daily intake should not exceed 1500 mg calcium and 600 IU cholecalciferol
- Reproductive toxicity shown with high dose of vitamin D in animals
- Avoid overdoses to prevent adverse effects on the developing fetus
- No indications of teratogenicity in humans at therapeutic doses
- Calcium and vitamin D3 pass into breast milk
Precautions & Warnings
- Follow serum calcium levels during long-term treatment
- Monitor renal function through serum creatinine measurement
- Consider serum calcium levels in immobilized patients with osteoporosis
- Prescribe with caution to patients suffering from sarcoidosis
- Consider the dose when prescribing other drugs containing vitamin D
Overdose Effects
- Can lead to hypervitaminosis D and hypercalcemia
- Symptoms may include anorexia, thirst, nausea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, muscle weakness, fatigue, mental disturbances, polydipsia, polyuria, and more
- Persistently high calcium levels may lead to irreversible renal damage and soft tissue calcification
