Composition

Antifungal Spectrum

  • Dermatophytes
  • Yeast (Candida, Cryptococcus neoformans)
  • Moulds
  • Malassezia furfur
  • Nocardia minutissima

Antibacterial Effect

  • Gram-positive cocci
  • Gram-positive bacilli (Streptococcus pyogens, Staphylococcus aureus)
  • Trichomonus vaginalis
  • Versicolor
  • Balanitis

Dosage & Administration

Apply sparingly to skin lesion no more than 2 times daily for adults. Caution needed for pediatric use.

Interactions

  • Econazole: Metabolized by CYP3A4/2C9, interaction with oral anticoagulants
  • Triamcinolone: Lowering of plasma salicylates levels, increased risk of GI bleeding with NSAIDs, antagonized blood glucose-lowering effects of antidiabetics

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients
  • Specific skin conditions (tuberculous, varicella, herpes simplex, etc.)

Side Effects

  • Transient local mild irritation
  • Adrenal suppression on long term continuous topical steroid therapy
  • Infants or children at greater risk

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Topical steroids in large amounts or for prolonged periods should not be used in pregnancy
  • Lactation should be withheld during treatment

Precautions & Warnings

  • For external use only
  • Caution for systemic absorption in children
  • Increased risk of skin thinning and atrophy, striae, telangiectasis and purpura

Overdose Effects

In the event of accidental ingestion, treat symptomatically. If accidentally applied to the eyes, wash with clean water or saline and seek medical attention if symptoms persist.
