Indications
- Treatment of hypertension
- Initial therapy for patients needing multiple drugs for blood pressure goals
Pharmacology
- Fixed dose combination of Telmisartan and Amiodipine
- Telmisartan: angiotensin receptor blocker
- Amiodipine: calcium-channel blocker
Dosage & Administration
- Usual starting dose of 40/5 mg once daily
- Maximum recommended dose of 80/10 mg once daily
- Initial therapy, Add-on Therapy, Replacement Therapy
Interaction
- Co-administration with various drugs
- Telmisartan not metabolized by cytochrome P450 system
- Amiodipine safely administered with other drugs
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity
- Pregnancy & lactation
- Biliary obstructive disorders
- Severe hepatic impairment
- Hypotension
- Cardiogenic shock

Overdose Effects
- Hypotension and tachycardia for telmisartan overdose
- Excessive peripheral vasodilation and marked hypotension for amiodipine overdose
