Description

Tofix 200 mg Tablet is a potent inhibitor of cyclooxygenase enzyme, used for relieving the pain of migraine headache, post-operative pain, and fever. It is absorbed from the GI tract, has a plasma half-life of 2 hours, and is metabolized in the liver. It interacts with Metoclopramide, Magnesium hydroxide, Aluminium hydroxide, anticoagulants, NSAIDs, loop diuretics, ACE Inhibitors, Lithium, Methotrexate, cardiac glycosides, ACE inhibitors, Ciclosporin, and Tacrolimus. This medicine is contraindicated in cases of active gastrointestinal bleeding, ulceration, severe heart failure, and during the third trimester of pregnancy. Side effects include alveolitis, hepatic damage, pancreatitis, Stevens-johnson syndrome, blood disorders, gastrointestinal bleeding, gastrointestinal discomfort, and visual disturbances. It should be stored in a cool and dry place away from light and children.

  • Dosage adult:
    • Acute migraine attacks: 200 mg when symptoms appear, may be repeated once after 1-2 hours
