Interactions
- Interacts with thiazide diuretics
- Reduces calcium absorption when used with systemic corticosteroids
- May interfere with absorption of concomitantly administered tetracycline preparations
- May increase toxicity of cardiac glycosides
- Should be administered at least three hours before intake of bisphosphonate or sodium fluoride

Pregnancy lactation
- Maximum daily intake during pregnancy: 1500 mg calcium & 600 IU cholecalciferol

- No indications of teratogenicity in humans
- Can be used during breastfeeding
Precautions warnings
- Serum calcium levels should be monitored during long-term treatment
- Renal function should be monitored in elderly patients and those with a high tendency to calculus formation
- Vitamin D should be used with caution in patients with impairment of renal function
- Risk of soft tissue calcification should be considered
- Caution in patients suffering from sarcoidosis
- Caution in immobilized patients with osteoporosis
