Floxalone-DX 0.5%+0.1% (Ophthalmic Solution)

Indications

• Treatment of eye infections
• Prevention of inflammation after eye surgery

Composition

• Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride BP equivalent to Moxifloxacin 5 mg
• Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate USP equivalent to Dexamethasone Phosphate 1 mg

Pharmacology

• Inhibits topoisomerase II and IV
• Anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory properties

Dosage & Administration

• Instill 1 drop, 4 times a day for up to 15 days after eye surgery
• Instill 1 drop, 4 times a day for up to 7 days in eye infections
• Specific instructions for cataract and LASIK surgeries

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to quinolones or product components
• Glaucoma and thinning of the cornea or sclera
• Inflammation caused by certain viruses, fungi, or mycobacteria

Side Effects

• Conjunctivitis, decreased visual acuity, dry eye, keratitis, ocular discomfort
• Visual acuity and field defects, cataract formation, secondary ocular infection

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Caution advised during pregnancy and nursing

Precautions & Warnings

• Discontinue use in case of allergic reaction
• Prolonged use may result in ocular hypertension, glaucoma, cataract formation

Use in Special Populations

• No change in dosage for elderly patients
• Efficacy and safety not established in pediatric patients
