Description
Benzimidazole anthelmintic
Pharmacology
Broad spectrum anthelmintic, vermicidal, ovicidal, larvicidal
Dosage & Administration
- 400 mg for adults and children over 2 years
- 200 mg for children of 1-2 years
- Not recommended for children under 1 year
- 400 mg twice daily for hydatid disease patients over 60 kg
- 15 mg/kg body weight daily for hydatid disease patients less than 60 kg
- 400 mg once daily for giardiasis

Contraindications
- Not normally used in neonates
- Reduction of the dose for children weighing less than 10 kg
- Avoid in pregnancy and lactation
- No dose alteration required in renal, hepatic, or cardiac failure
