Description
Rivastigmine is a medication used for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderately severe Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease dementia. Dosage Instructions
- Initial dose of 1.5 mg twice a day
- Dose titration based on tolerability up to 6 mg twice a day
- Transdermal patch dosage ranging from 4.6 mg/24 hours to 13.3 mg/24 hours
Administration
Administered twice a day, with morning and evening meals
Interaction
- Exaggeration of succinylcholine-type muscle relaxants during anesthesia
- Possible interference with other cholinomimetic substances and anticholinergic medicinal products
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the active substance or other carbamate derivatives
