Indications
- Add-on therapy for stable angina pectoris
Pharmacology
- Metabolic anti-ischemic agent
- Inhibits fatty acid pathway
- Enhances glucose pathway for energy production
- Prevents lactic acid production
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dose: 35mg twice daily or 20mg thrice daily
- Should be taken during meals
- Assess benefit after three months
Interaction
- No reported drug interactions with beta-blockers, calcium antagonists, nitrates, heparin, hypolipidemic agents, or digitalis preparation
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to active substance or excipients
- Patients with Parkinson's disease or parkinsonian symptoms
- Severe renal impairment
