Pharmacology

Dosage & Administration

  • Adult & Elderly: One tablet a day before or after meal
  • Pediatric patients: Safety and effectiveness not established

Interaction

  • Chelates with tetracycline
  • Interference with oral tetracycline antibiotics
  • Minimized gastrointestinal discomfort by taking with meals
  • Impaired iron absorption with concurrent administrations of penicillamine and antacid
  • Risk of zinc accumulation in patients with renal failure

Contraindications

  • Patients with haemolytic anaemia
  • Conditions with increased hypersensitivity to any components
  • Increased body iron content
