Description
Nabu 750 mg Tablet is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for relief of signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. It exhibits anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic properties. The parent compound is a prodrug which undergoes hepatic biotransformation to the active component, 6-methoxy-2-naphthylacetic acid (6MNA), that is a potent inhibitor of prostaglandin synthesis.

Administration
- Oral
- Mix 1 tablet with 250 ml of water and drink completely
Recommended Dose
- 1000 mg as a single dose with or without food for osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis
- 1500-2000 mg per day for some patients
- Twice-daily dosing option
- Maximum starting doses for patients with renal insufficiency
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to nabumetone or its excipients
- Patients with asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs
- Treatment of peri-operative pain in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery
Side Effects
- Gastrointestinal: Diarrhea, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, constipation, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, etc.
- Central Nervous System: Dizziness, headache, fatigue, increased sweating, insomnia, etc.
- Dermatologic: Pruritus, rash
- Special Senses: Tinnitus
- Miscellaneous: Edema
Pregnancy and Lactation
- Pregnancy Category C
- Use during pregnancy only if dearly needed
- Not recommended for use in nursing mothers
Precautions and Warnings
- Associated with renal papillary necrosis and other abnormal renal pathology during long-term administration to animals
- Renal toxicity in patients with conditions leading to a reduction in renal blood flow or blood volume
- Discontinuation typically followed by recovery to the pretreatment state

- NSAIDs may diminish the antihypertensive effect of ACE-inhibitors
