Pharmacology

Dosage & Administration

- 740 mg Calcium Orotate: 1-2 tablets as an addition to the daily diet, with meals or as directed by a physician
Interaction
- May decrease absorption of biphosphonates, quinolone antibiotics, tetracycline antibiotics, levothyroxine, phenytoin, tiludronate disodium, and thiazide-type diuretics
- May interact with aluminum- and magnesium-containing antacids, mineral oil, stimulant laxatives, glucocorticoids, oral contraceptives, estrogen compounds, anti-inflammatories, corticosteroids
Contraindications
- Incomplete or infrequent bowel movements
- Kidney stone
- Kidney disease
- Increased activity of the parathyroid gland
- High amount of Calcium in urine
- High amount of Calcium in the blood
- Extreme loss of body water
