Description
- Silflox is a synthetic quinolone anti-infective agent indicated for the treatment of single or mixed infections caused by susceptible organisms, including infections resistant to other antibiotics. It is active against gram-negative and gram-positive aerobic bacteria, with broad spectrum of activity. It is available in tablet form and has bactericidal action through interference with DNA gyrase.
Dosage Range
- 100-750mg
Recommended Dosage
- 250mg twice daily for urinary tract infections
- 500mg twice daily for most other infections
- 750mg twice daily for severe respiratory infections
- Single dose of 250 or 500mg for gonorrhea

- Dosage adjustment needed for renal impairment
- Dosage for cystic fibrosis patients
- Dosage for adolescents and children
- Extended-release tablet dosage for acute cystitis
