Interaction
- Diminished ability to metabolize large doses with barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, and alcohol
- Increased hepatotoxicity of overdose with alcohol
- Chronic ingestion of anticonvulsants or oral steroid contraceptives
- Induces liver enzymes
- Prevents attainment of therapeutic levels

- Known hypersensitivity to Paracetamol

Pregnancy & Lactation

Precautions & Warnings
- Care advised in severe renal or severe hepatic impairment
- Hazard of overdose greater in non-cirrhotic alcoholic liver disease
- Avoid exceeding stated dose
- Not to be taken concurrently with other Silpol-containing products
- Use only when clearly necessary
Overdose Effects
- Possible liver damage in adults with 10 g or more intake
- Possible liver damage with 5 g or more intake and specific risk factors
- Symptoms of overdose in first 24 hours
- Abnormalities of glucose metabolism
- Metabolic acidosis
- Hepatic failure may progress to encephalopathy
- Immediate treatment essential
- Use of activated charcoal if overdose within 1 hour
- Treatment with N-acetylcysteine within 24 hours
- Urgent management for serious hepatic dysfunction beyond 24 hours
