Dosage form

  • Tablet
  • Capsule
  • Oral Suspension

Dosage instructions

  • Oral:
    • Should be taken one hour before a meal
  • IV Injection:
    • IV Injection: >3 Minutes
    • IV Infusion: 10-30 minutes

Paediatric dosage

  • 20mg Capsule: Body weight <55 kg: 10 mg once daily, Body Weight ≥55 kg: 20 mg once daily, 1 month to <1 year: 0.5 mg/kg once daily
  • IV Infusion: 10-30 minutes

Administration

  • Tablet or capsule: Swallowed whole one hour before meal
  • Oral Suspension: Mixed with water and consumed within 30 minutes
  • IV Injection: Administered intravenously over at least 3 minutes

Interaction

  • Metabolized by:
    • CYP2C19
    • CYP3A4
  • Potential interference with:
    • CYP2C19 substrate medications
    • Absorption of drugs affected by gastric pH

Contraindications

  • Known hypersensitivity to any of the formulation

Pregnancy lactation

  • Pregnancy: No adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women

Precautions warnings

  • General: Symptomatic response does not rule out gastric malignancy
  • Dosage for severe hepatic insufficiency: Should not exceed 20 mg once daily

Special populations

  • Paediatric Use: Safety and effectiveness not established
  • Geriatric Use: No overall differences in safety and efficacy observed
  • Hepatic Insufficiency: No dosage adjustment recommended for mild to moderate

Overdose effects

  • Reduced motor activity
  • Respiratory frequency changes
  • Tremor
  • Ataxia
  • Intermittent clonic convulsions
