Pharmacology

  • Active against Gram-Negative Aerobes

Contraindications

  • Contraindicated in cases of anuria
  • Contraindicated in cases of oliguria
  • Contraindicated in cases of significant impairment of renal function
  • Contraindicated in pregnant patients at 38-42 weeks
  • Contraindicated during labor and delivery
  • Contraindicated in cases of known hypersensitivity to Nitrofurantoin

  • Discontinue if acute, sub-acute or chronic pulmonary reactions occur
  • Avoid antacid preparations containing magnesium trisilicate

Overdose Effects

  • Occasional incidents of vomiting with acute overdosage
