Dosage & Administration
- 75-150 mg daily in 2 to 3 divided doses for adults
- 1 tablet daily for adults (Diclofenac SR)
- 1-3 mg of diclofenac/kg body weight daily for children
- Lowest effective dosage for elderly patients
- 2-3 tablets daily for adults (Diclofenac Dispersible Tablet)
- 1-3 mg/kg body weight for children (juveniles)
- 1 capsule daily (Diclofenac TR Capsule)
- 50 mg suppository 2-3 times daily for adults
- External application: 2-4 g 3-4 times daily (Diclofenac Gel)
Interaction
- Plasma concentration increase with lithium and digoxin
- Increased risk of hemorrhage with anticoagulants
- No influence on antidiabetic agents
- Nephrotoxicity with cyclosporin
- Serious toxicity with methotrexate
- Convulsions due to interaction with quinolone antimicrobials
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any ingredient
- Peptic ulcer
- Hypersensitivity to Diclofenac or other NSAIDs
- Asthmatic patients with known triggers

Pregnancy & Lactation

- Insignificant quantity detected in breast milk

- Close observation for peptic ulceration or gastrointestinal bleeding
- Close observation in advanced age patients
- Avoid contact with eyes or mucus membranes
- Hands should be washed properly after application
