Pharmacology
- Anti-epileptic activity against a variety of seizures
- Increase brain levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)

Interaction

Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to the drug
- Liver dysfunction
- Restricted use during pregnancy and in women of childbearing potential
Side Effects
- Common side effects such as anorexia, nausea, and vomiting
- CNS effects like sedation, ataxia, and tremor
- Occasional effects on hepatic function
- Rare occurrences of fulminate hepatitis, rash, alopecia, and appetite stimulation
- Greater susceptibility in children below 2 years with medical conditions and multiple antiepileptic agents
Pregnancy & Lactation
