Dosage
- Initial dose for hypertension: 1.25-2.5 mg once daily
- Maintenance dosage for hypertension: 2.5-20 mg daily
- Dosage for congestive heart failure after myocardial infarction: 2.5-5 mg twice daily
- Dosage for prevention of major cardiovascular events: 2.5 mg to 10 mg daily
- Dosage adjustment for renal impairment
Administration
- Swallow with liquid
- Do not chew or crush
- May be taken before, during, or after a meal
- Not significantly affected by food
Interaction
- Concomitant administration with diuretics
- Concomitant therapy with lithium
- Effect on driving and operating machinery
- Interaction with alcohol
- NSAIDs interaction
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to ramipril
- History of angioedema
- Concomitant sacubitril/valsartan therapy
- Haemodynamically relevant renal artery stenosis
- Hypotensive or haemodynamically unstable states
- Concomitant aliskiren-containing medicines in patients with diabetes
- Concomitant use of ACE inhibitors and extracorporeal treatments
- Pregnancy
- Extracorporeal treatments with negatively charged surfaces
