Description
Tofe 200 mg Tablet is a potent inhibitor of cyclooxygenase enzyme, thus it inhibits the synthesis of important inflammatory mediators such as thromboxane (TX) B2 and prostaglandin (PG) E2. It is used for the treatment of acute migraine attacks, mild to moderate pain, post-operative pain, and fever. Tolfenamic acid, its active ingredient, is well absorbed from the GI tract, has a bioavailability of 85%, and is metabolized in the liver. The medicine is contraindicated in cases of active gastrointestinal bleeding, ulceration, severe heart failure, and should be avoided during the third trimester of pregnancy. It should be taken with food and stored in a cool, dry place away from light, out of the reach of children.
