Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dose for osteoarthritis: 30mg once daily
- Recommended dose for rheumatoid arthritis: 90mg once daily
- Recommended dose for ankylosing spondylitis: 90mg once daily
- Recommended dose for acute gouty arthritis: 120mg once daily
- Recommended dose for postoperative dental surgery pain: 90mg once daily
- Shortest duration and lowest effective daily dose should be used
- Re-evaluation of patient's need for symptomatic relief and response to therapy
Interaction
- Increase in prothrombin time with oral anticoagulants
- Reduction in the effect of diuretics and other antihypertensive drugs with NSAIDs
- Concomitant use with low-dose acetylsalicylic acid for cardiovascular prophylaxis
- Potential increase in the nephrotoxic effect of ciclosporin or tacrolimus with coadministration
- Decrease in lithium renal excretion and increase in lithium plasma levels with NSAIDs
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the active substance or excipients
- Active peptic ulceration or active gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding
- Experienced hypersensitivity reactions to acetylsalicylic acid or NSAIDs
- Pregnancy and lactation
- Severe hepatic dysfunction
- Estimated renal creatinine clearance < 30ml/min
- Children and adolescents under 16 years of age
- Inflammatory bowel disease
- Congestive heart failure
- Uncontrolled hypertension
- Established ischaemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease, and/or cerebrovascular disease

Precautions & Warnings
- Caution in patients at risk of developing GI complication with NSAIDs
- Careful consideration in patients with significant risk factors for cardiovascular events
- Potential reduction in prostaglandin formation and renal blood flow
- Exercise caution in patients with history of cardiac failure, left ventricular dysfunction, or hypertension
- Monitoring of renal and hepatic function
- Discontinuation at first sign of skin rash, mucosal lesions, or hypersensitivity
- Potential masking of fever and other signs of inflammation
- Caution with co-administration with warfarin or other oral anticoagulants
Overdose Effects
- No significant toxicity observed with single or multiple doses up to specified limits
- Employment of usual supportive measures in case of overdose
