Indications

  • Treatment of deep vein thrombosis, with or without pulmonary embolism

Composition

  • Each 0.2 ml pre-filled syringe contains Enoxaparin Sodium BP 20 mg
  • Each 0.4 ml pre-filled syringe contains Enoxaparin Sodium BP 40 mg
  • Each 0.6 ml pre-filled syringe contains Enoxaparin Sodium BP 60 mg
  • Each 0.8 ml pre-filled syringe contains Enoxaparin Sodium BP 80 mg

Pharmacology

Low molecular weight heparin with high anti-Xa activity and low anti-lla or antithrombin activity

Dosage

  • Subcutaneously 100 anti-Xa lU/kg twice daily for 10 days
  • Oral anticoagulant therapy initiation when appropriate
  • Subcutaneously 100 anti-Xa lU/kg twice daily for 2-8 days concurrently with oral aspirin
  • Recommended dose of 100 anti-Xa lU/kg for prevention of thrombus formation during hemodialysis
  • Different doses based on risk for surgical and medical patients

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Enoxaparin Sodium, active major bleeding, high risk of uncontrolled hemorrhage

  • Pain and skin reactions at injection sites
  • Cases of neuraxial hematomas with spinal/epidural anesthesia

  • Caution in conditions with increased potential for bleeding
  • Recommendation for platelet count measurement
