Indications

Pharmacology
- Histamine H2-receptor antagonist
- Inhibition of basal gastric acid secretion
- Slowly reversible H2-receptor antagonist activity
Dosage & Administration
- Usual dosage for adults: Famotidine 20 mg twice daily
- Orally administered once daily at bed time
Powder for Suspension
- Usual dosage for adults: Famotidine 20 mg orally twice a day
- Maintenance therapy: 20 mg once daily
Interaction
- No clinically important drug interactions
- Does not interact with cytochrome P450-linked drug-metabolizing enzyme system
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to any component of the drug
