Indications
- Gastric ulcer

Pharmacology
- Histamine H2-receptor antagonist
- Inhibits basal, overnight and pentagastrin stimulated gastric acid secretion
- Slowly reversible H2-receptor antagonist activity
Dosage & Administration
- Usual dose for adults: Famotidine 20 mg twice daily or Famotidine 40 mg once daily
- Different dosage for acute gastritis and chronic gastritis
- Dosage adjustment according to age and symptoms
- Dosage for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease(GERD) based on age
Interaction
- No clinically important drug interactions
- Does not interact with cytochrome P450 system
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to any component of the drug
