Pregnancy and lactation

  • Recommended daily intake for pregnant women is 400 IU
  • Excreted in breast milk, overdose in breastfed infants not observed

  • Plasma calcium concentration should be monitored in patients receiving high doses or with renal impairment
  • Consult health care practitioner before supplementing for those using Digoxin and Thiazide Diuretics
  • Special caution for patients with liver or kidney disease, primary hyperthyroidism, etc.
