Description

Cosmotil 250 mg Tablet is a second generation cephalosporin antibiotic with a beta-lactamase inhibitor, used for the treatment of various bacterial infections.

Dosage & Administration

  • 250 mg b.i.d. for adolescents and adults
  • 20 mg/kg/day b.i.d. for paediatric patients
  • May be taken without regard to food

Mode of Action

Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by interfering with the transpeptidation process.

Interaction

Concomitant administration of probenecid increases the serum concentration of Cefuroxime-Clavulanic Acid by 50%.
