Indications
- Substitution therapy for treatment of essential hypertension
- For patients already controlled with indapamide and amlodipine given concurrently at the same dose level
Pharmacology
- Indapamide acts by inhibiting the reabsorption of sodium in the cortical dilution segment
- Amlodipine is a calcium ion influx inhibitor of the dihydropyridine group
- Increases urinary excretion of sodium and chlorides
- Increases urine output
- Has antihypertensive action
- Direct relaxant effect on vascular smooth muscle
Dosage & Administration
- One tablet per day as a single dose
- Preferably to be taken in the morning
- To be swallowed whole with water
- Not suitable for initiation therapy
- Pediatric population: Safety and efficacy in children and adolescents not established
- Patients with renal impairment: Contraindicated in severe renal impairment
- Patients with hepatic impairment: Contraindicated in severe hepatic impairment
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to active substances or excipients
- Severe renal failure
- Hepatic encephalopathy or severe impairment of liver function
- Hypokalaemia
- Lactation
- Severe hypotension
- Shock (including cardiogenic shock)
- Obstruction of the outflow tract of the left ventricle
- Hemodynamically unstable heart failure after acute myocardial infarction

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Not recommended during pregnancy
