Indications
- Reduction of very high triglyceride levels
- Secondary prevention for myocardial infarction
- Reduction of joint inflammation associated with mild arthritis

Composition
- Omega-3-Acid Ethyl Esters BP 1000 mg
- Eicosapentaenoic Acid BP 80 mg
- Docosahexaenoic Acid BP 120 mg
Pharmacology
- Reduction of triglyceride production by the liver
- Inhibition of triglyceride synthesis
- Increase in fatty acid metabolism
- Inhibition of fatty acid release
- Increase in triglyceride clearance
- Decrease in VLDL-C production
Dosage & Administration
- Single dose of 4 capsules (4 gm) or 2 capsules (2 gm) twice daily for hypertriglyceridaemia
- 1 capsule (1 gm) daily for previously myocardial infarction patients
- 2.7 gm daily for joint inflammation associated with mild arthritis
- 1 capsule (1 gm) per day for mood disorders & impulse control and age-related macular degeneration
Interaction
- Can be given in conjunction with warfarin without haemorrhagic complications
- Prothrombin time must be checked when combined with warfarin
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any component of the medication

Precautions & Warnings
- Monitoring for patients receiving anti-coagulant therapy
- Adjustment of anti-coagulant dosage
- Surveillance required for patients at high risk of haemorrhage
- Not recommended for use in children
- Fall in thromboxane A2 production
- Moderate increase in bleeding time
- Monitoring of ASAT and ALAT levels in patients with signs of liver damage
