Indications
- Smooth muscle antispasmodic
- Treatment of gastrointestinal and genitourinary tract spasm
- Recommended for spasmotic dysmenorrhea
- Use in gastrointestinal and renal or biliary severe pain
- Use in radiological diagnosis for relief of colonic spasm and pain reduction in pileography and gastro-duodenal endoscopy
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage is 20mg four times daily
- Pediatric dosage is 10mg three times daily or as directed by a physician
- Injection dosage varies for muscle or visceral use, with a standard dose of 20mg and more frequent use in endoscopy
Contraindications
- Prostatic hypertrophy
- Paralytic ileus or pyloric stenosis
- Glaucoma patients
- Patients with cardiopathic insufficiency or failure

- Flushing
- Skin dryness
- Bradycardia
- Tachycardia

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Use with caution in the first three months of pregnancy
Precautions & Warnings
- May cause confusion and mental depression
- Patients should avoid driving or operating machinery
- Refrain from alcohol consumption
- Caution in patients with thyrotoxicosis, cardiac insufficiency or failure, and asthmatic patients
- Careful use with other anticholinergics, antihistamines, beta-blockers, and tricyclic antidepressants
