Pharmacology

  • Pharmacodynamics: Antifungal activity against dermatophytes and yeasts, Antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacilli and cocci
  • Pharmacokinetics: Low oral bioavailability, Systemic absorption after oral gel administration, Metabolized and excreted mostly unchanged in urine

Dosage

  • Miconazole Oral Gel:
    • Dosage for infants 4-24 months
    • Dosage for adults and children 2 years of age and older
    • Dosage for infants with difficulty swallowing tablets
    • Application frequency for affected areas with cream
  • Miconazole Cream:
    • Application frequency for tinea pedis, tinea cruris, tinea corporis, and candidiasis
    • Duration of treatment for different types of infections

Administration

Application frequency and duration for localized mouth lesions and oral candidosis, Removal of dental prosthesis at night

Interaction

  • Interaction with Terfenadine, Astemizole, and Cisapride
  • Interaction with Phenytoin and Cyclosporine

Contraindications

Known hypersensitivity to the active ingredient
