Description

Nervalin is a medication used for neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, fibromyalgia, spinal cord injury, and as adjunctive therapy for partial-onset seizures. It has a pharmacological action related to the binding of the alpha2-delta subunit, and its dosage varies for different indications. It is administered orally, and precautions need to be taken for specific populations and situations such as pregnancy, lactation, and overdose.   • Administration Instructions: Swallow whole, do not split, crush or chew, administer after an evening meal
  • Missed Dose Instructions:
    • Take missed dose after an evening meal, followed by the usual dose prior to bedtime after a snack
    • If dose is missed prior to bedtime, take it following a morning meal
    • If dose is missed following the morning meal, take it at the usual time that evening after an evening meal
  • Discontinuation Instructions: Gradually taper over a minimum of 1 week
  • Potential Drug Interactions: Unlikely to be involved in significant pharmacokinetic drug interactions

  • Warnings:
    • Angioedema: Discontinue immediately if occurring
    • Hypersensitivity Reactions: Discontinue immediately if occurring
    • Suicidal Thoughts: Increased risk with Nervalin
    • Respiratory Depression: May occur with concomitant CNS depressants or respiratory impairment
    • Drowsiness: May impair ability to drive or operate machinery
    • Seizure Frequency: May increase if Nervalin is rapidly discontinued
    • Peripheral Edema: May cause, exercise caution when coadministering with thiazolidinedione antidiabetic agents
