Indications
- Acute Bacterial Sinusitis
- Acute Bacterial Exacerbation of Chronic Bronchitis
- Community Acquired Pneumonia
- Skin and Skin Structure Infections: Uncomplicated and Complicated
- Complicated Intra-Abdominal Infections
Dosage
- 400 mg once daily
- 10 days for Acute Bacterial Sinusitis
- 5 days for Acute Bacterial Exacerbation of Chronic Bronchitis
- 7-14 days for Community Acquired Pneumonia
- 7 days for Uncomplicated Skin and Skin Structure Infections
- 7-21 days for Complicated Skin and Skin Structure Infections
- 5-14 days for Complicated Intra-Abdominal Infections
Administration
- Intravenous infusion over a period of 60 minutes
- Check the bag for minute leaks by squeezing the inner bag firmly
- Do not use if the solution is cloudy or a precipitate is present
- Squeeze and release drip chamber to establish proper fluid level
- Regulate the rate of administration with flow control clamp
Interaction
- Avoid co-administration with any solution containing multivalent cations
- Enhance the anticoagulant effects of warfarin or its derivatives
- Potential risks of CNS stimulation and convulsions when combined with a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug
- Potential for a pharmacodynamic interaction in humans with drugs that prolong the QTc interval

- Known hypersensitivity to Moxifloxacin or other quinolone antibacterials

Precautions & Warnings
- Increased risk of tendinitis and tendon rupture
- Neuromuscular blocking activity
- Exacerbation of muscle weakness in myasthenia gravis patients
- Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea
Use in Special Populations
- Safety and effectiveness not established in pediatric patients and adolescents less than 18 years of age
- Increased risk for severe tendon disorders in geriatric patients
