Description
A-Statin is indicated as an adjunct to diet to reduce elevated total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, apolipoprotein B (Apo-B) and triglycerides levels in various diseases. DosageAndAdministration
- 10 mg once daily for adults with possible increment, and usually 10 mg once daily for children (10-18 years)
- Patients should be on a standard cholesterol-lowering diet before and during treatment with A-Statin
- Lipid levels should be analyzed within 2 to 4 weeks of initiation and dosage adjusted accordingly
Interaction
- Concurrent administration with cyclosporine, fibric acid derivatives, niacin, erythromycin, and azole antifungals increases the risk of myopathy
- A-Statin and coadministered antacid suspension may reduce plasma concentrations of A-Statin but not alter LDL-C reduction
- Coadministration of A-Statin and an oral contraceptive may increase AUC values for norethindrone and ethinyl estradiol
