Indications
- Neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN)
- Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN)
- Adjunctive therapy for the treatment of partial-onset seizures
- Fibromyalgia
- Neuropathic pain associated with spinal cord injury
Pharmacology
- Structural derivative of inhibitory neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)
- Binds to the alpha2-delta site in central nervous system tissues
Dosage
- Maximum recommended dose of 100 mg three times a day for DPN
- Maximum recommended dose of 300 mg/day for PHN
- Recommended dose of 300-450 mg/day for fibromyalgia
- Recommended dose range of 150-600 mg/day for spinal cord injury
- Instructions for conversion from Pregabalin capsules to Pregabalin CR capsule tablet
Administration
- Oral route of administration
- Can be taken with or without food
- Pregabalin CR tablet should be administered after an evening meal
- Guidelines for missed doses and discontinuation
