Indications
- Symptomatic treatment of stable angina pectoris
- Add-on therapy for angina pectoris
- Inadequately controlled angina pectoris
- Intolerant to first-line antianginal therapies
Pharmacology
- First 3-keto acyl CoA thiolase inhibitor
- Metabolic anti-ischemic agent
- Inhibition of fatty acid pathway
- Transfer of oxygen to glucose pathway
- Increased energy production in the heart
- Prevention of lactic acid production
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dose: 35mg twice daily
- Alternately: 20mg thrice daily during meals
- Assessment of treatment response after three months
- Discontinuation if no treatment response

- No interactions with beta-blockers, calcium antagonists, nitrates, heparin, hypolipidemic agents, digitalis preparation
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to active substance or excipients
- Parkinson’s disease
- Parkinsonian symptoms

- Severe renal impairment
