Buratuss 7.5 mg/5 ml (Syrup)

Indications

• Relieves dry (non-productive) cough
• Used for pre & post-operative cough sedation
• Relief of cough due to acute lower respiratory tract infections

Pharmacology

• Butamirate Citrate acts directly on the brain's cough center to suppress cough
• Safe and non-sedating
• Rapid and complete absorption after oral administration

Dosage & Administration

• For adults: 2-3 tablets of Butamirate Citrate 50 mg daily
• For children (3-6 yrs): 5 ml of syrup 3 times daily
• For adolescents over 12 years old: 1-2 tablets of Butamirate Citrate 50 mg daily

Interaction

• Concomitant use with expectorants should be avoided

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to the active ingredient

• Adverse reactions such as rash, nausea, and diarrhea in rare cases

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy
• Caution advised during the remainder of pregnancy

• Avoid concomitant use with expectorants to prevent mucus retention
• Consult a doctor if cough persists for more than 7 days

Overdose Effects

• Symptoms may include drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, and hypotension
