  • Eczematous Mycoses
  • Psoriasis
  • Tinea Pedis (Athlete’s foot)
  • Tinea Corporis (Ring worm)
  • Tinea Cruris (Jock itch)
  • Inflammatory Intertrigo
  • Diaper Dermatitis
  • Onychomycoses

Description

  • Broad spectrum antimycotic
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Anti-pruritic
  • Anti-allergic effects
  • Composed of Econazole Nitrate and Triamcinolone Acetonide
  • Action against various pathogens: Dermatophytes, Yeasts, Moulds, Fungi, Malassezia furfur, Nocardia minutissima

Dosage & Administration

  • Sparingly apply to skin lesion
  • Not more than 2 times daily
  • Preferably once in the morning and once in the evening
  • Not to be applied with occlusive dressing
  • Duration of treatment not longer than 2 weeks

Interaction

  • Econazole metabolized by CYP3A4/2C9
  • Interaction with oral anticoagulants, NSAIDs, antidiabetics, amphotericin B, beta-blockers, potassium-depleting diuretics, theophylline
  • Triamcinolone interaction with plasma salicylates, ciclosporin, carbamazepine, phenytoin, barbiturate, rifampicin

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to ingredients
  • Specific skin conditions: tuberculous, varicella, herpes simplex, viral, bacterial or fungal skin infections, fresh vaccination sites, decubitus ulcers, rosacea or rosacea-like dermatitis

Side Effects

  • Transient local mild irritation
  • Itching
  • Redness
  • Minimal allergenic effect
  • Adrenal suppression on long term continuous topical steroid therapy
  • Potential occlusive dressing effect for infants

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Triamcinolone crosses placenta
  • Topical corticosteroids during pregnancy can cause abnormalities
  • Topical steroids in large amounts or for prolonged periods should not be used in pregnancy
  • Negligible excretion in breast milk

Precautions & Warnings

  • External use only
  • Not for ophthalmic or oral use
  • Discontinue if hypersensitivity or chemical irritation occurs
  • Caution for systemic effects and skin thinning
  • Increased absorption in children
  • Visual disturbance association
  • Referral to ophthalmologist for evaluation if vision symptoms occur

Overdose Effects

  • For cutaneous application only
  • Accidental ingestion should be treated symptomatically
  • Accidental eye application should be washed with clean water and seek medical attention if symptoms persist
