Description

Interaction
- Symptomatic postural hypotension with antihypertensive medicines
- Adverse reactions with tricyclic antidepressants
- Decrease in bioavailability with ferrous sulphate
- Reduction of therapeutic effects with dopamine-2 receptor antagonists
- Reversal of therapeutic effects by phenytoin and papaverine
- Severe orthostatic hypotension with selegiline
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Carbidopa and Levodopa
- Narrow-angle glaucoma
- Risk of activating malignant melanoma

Precautions & Warnings
- Not recommended for medicine-induced extrapyramidal reactions
- Dyskinesias in patients previously treated with Levodopa alone
- Risk of depression with suicidal tendencies
- Cautious administration to patients with severe cardiovascular, pulmonary, renal, or hepatic disease
- Particular care in patients with history of myocardial infarction or chronic wide-angle glaucoma

- Not recommended for use in patients below the age of 18 years
