Indications
- Invasive Aspergillosis
- Candidemia
- Esophageal Candidiasis
- Infections caused by Scedosporium apiospermum and Fusarium Species
Mode of Action
- Inhibits ergosterol synthesis by inhibiting CYP450-dependent 14-alpha sterol demethylase
Dosage Instructions
- Different loading and maintenance dosage regimens based on body weight: 40 kg and above, below 40 kg
- Oral administration before or after a meal
- Injection dosage specifics for different fungal infections
Drug Interaction
- Adjust dosage in presence of CYP3A4, CYP2C9, CYP2C19 inhibitors or inducers
- Potential for increased concentrations and activity of other drugs
- Specific dosing adjustments with co-administration of Phenytoin or Efavirenz
