Indications
- Treatment of acute and chronic psychoses

Pharmacology
- Belongs to dibenzothiazepine derivatives class
- Antagonist at multiple neurotransmitter receptors
- No appreciable affinity at cholinergic muscarinic and benzodiazepine receptors

Dosage & Administration
- Administered twice daily
- First four days dose titration for acute and chronic psychoses
- Further dosage adjustments for manic and depressive episodes
- Maintenance therapy dose adjustment
Interactions
- Caution with medicines causing electrolyte imbalance
- Co-administration with thioridazine or carbamazepine
- Co-administration with phenytoin
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity

Precautions & Warnings
- Risk of suicidal thoughts or clinical worsening
- Caution in patients with cardiovascular disease
- Caution in patients with seizures history
- Consideration for tardive dyskinesia and EPS
- Discontinue if neuroleptic malignant syndrome occurs
- Exercise caution in patients with cardiovascular disease or family history of QT prolongation
