Description
- Pyrrolo-pyrrole group nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)
- Chemical compound structure: 5 benzoyle-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrroligine-1-carboxylic acid, compound with 2-amino-2-(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-propanediol
- Inhibits prostaglandin synthesis
- Peripherally acting analgesic
- Biological activity associated with S-form
- Linear pharmacokinetic property
- Highly protein bound
- Largely metabolized in the liver
- Metabolites and unchanged drugs excreted in urine
Pharmacology
- Potent analgesic
- Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)

Dosage & Administration
- Recommended tablet dose: 10 mg every 4-6 hours for short-term use (up to 7 days)
- Injection: Single or multiple doses for moderately severe acute pain management, with specific dosing guidelines based on age, weight, and condition
- Eye drops: Recommended use of 1 drop in each eye 4 times daily
Interaction
- Increased side effects with other NSAIDs or aspirin
- Enhanced anti-coagulant effect with anti-coagulants
- Reduced anti-hypertensive effect with beta blockers
- Increased risk of renal impairment with ACE inhibitors
- Enhanced toxicity of methotrexate
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Ketorolac or other NSAIDs
- Not for use in children under 16 years old
- Contraindicated as prophylactic analgesic before surgery

- Avoid administering while wearing contact lenses
