Indications

• Relief of cough
• Relief of congestive symptoms
• Aiding restful sleep

Composition

• Gualfonosln BP 100 mg
• Levomenthol BP 1.1 mg
• Diphenhydramine Hydrochlorldo BP 14 mg

Pharmacology

• Guaifenesin as an expectorant
• Levomenthol as a local anesthetic and decongestant
• Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride as an antitussive, antihistaminic, and anticholinergic

Dosage & Administration

• Adult dosage: 2 teaspoonfuls syrup 4 times a day
• Maximum adult dosage: 8 teaspoonful syrup in 24 hours

Interaction

• Potentiation of effects with alcohol and CNS depressants
• Potentiation of effects with anticholinergics

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to the product or its components
• Recent treatment with MAOIs

Side Effects

• Drowsiness
• Dizziness
• Nausea and vomiting
• Gastro-intestinal disturbance
• Dry mouth, nose, and throat
• Difficulty in urination
• Blurred vision

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Care should be taken during pregnancy
• No associated adverse effects in the human fetus or suckling infant

Precautions & Warnings

• May cause drowsiness
• Not for individuals with narrow-angle glaucoma or symptomatic prostatic hypertrophy
• Not for persistent or chronic cough without physician direction

Overdose Effects

• Renal calculi when taken in excess
• Symptomatic and supportive treatment for overdose
