Composition

Guaifenesin BP 100 mg
Levomenthol BP 1.1 mg
Diphenhydramine Hydrochlorldo BP 14 mg

Pharmacology

Guaifenesin reduces viscosity of sputum, Levomenthol has local anesthetic properties, Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride possesses antitussive, antihistaminic, and anticholinergic properties

Dosage & Administration

For adults and children over 12 years: 2 teaspoonfuls syrup 4 times a day or as directed by physicians. Do not take more than 8 teaspoonful syrup in 24 hours. Use in Children & Adolescents should be determined by physician

Interaction

Potentiates effects of alcohol and other CNS depressants, may potentiate effects of anticholinergics, resulting in tachycardia, mouth dryness, gastrointestinal disturbances, urinary retention, and headache

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the product or any of its components, recent treatment with MAOIs

Pregnancy & Lactation

Precautions & Warnings

May cause drowsiness, should not be taken by individuals with narrow-angle glaucoma or symptomatic prostatic hypertrophy, should not be used for persistent or chronic cough without physician's direction

Overdose Effects

When taken in excess, Guaifenesin may cause renal calculi. Treatment of overdose should be symptomatic and supportive
