Composition

Guaifenesin BP 100 mg
Levomenthol BP 1.1 mg
Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride BP 14 mg

Pharmacology

Guaifenesin reduces viscosity of sputum
Levomenthol has local anesthetic properties
Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride is antitussive, antihistaminic, and anticholinergic

Dosage & Administration

2 teaspoonfuls syrup 4 times a day for adults and children over 12 years
Not more than 8 teaspoonful syrup in 24 hours
Efficacy and safety not established in pediatric patients and adolescents

Interaction

Potentiates effects of alcohol and CNS depressants
Potentiates effects of anticholinergics
May result in tachycardia, dry mouth, gastrointestinal disturbances, urinary retention, and headache

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the product or its components
Recent treatment with MAOIs
Narrow-angle glaucoma or symptomatic prostatic hypertrophy

Overdose Effects
