Pharmacology

Expectorant action of Guaifenesin
Cough suppressant action of Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide
Local anesthetic and counterirritant qualities of Menthol

Dosage and administration

Adult Use Only (12 years and over)
2 teaspoonful syrup (10 ml) every 6 hours
Maximum 8 teaspoonful syrup (40 ml)/day

Interactions

Possible reactions with specific drugs like acetaminophen/hydrocodone
Diphenhydramine
Escitalopram
Acetaminophen/codeine
Alprazolam
Ondansetron

Contraindications

Not to be used with prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI)
Two weeks after stopping MAOI drug
Not known if prescription drug contains MAOI

Side effects

Feeling nervous, restless, anxious, or irritable
Not for use in children less than 12 years of age
