Indications

Mode of Action

  • Neutralizing excess stomach acid
  • Forming a protective barrier over the stomach contents
  • Reaction with gastric acid to form a raft of Alginic Acid gel
  • Cap the acid pocket in the stomach
  • Neutralizing gastric acid to provide fast relief from indigestion and heartburn

Dosage & Administration

  • Oral suspension for adults and children over 12 years
  • Oral suspension for children 6 to 12 years
  • Chewable tablet for adults and children 12 years and over
  • Chewable tablet caution for children under 12 years
  • No recommended use for oral suspension in children under 6 years

Interaction

  • Time-interval of 2 hours between Gascon intake and other medicinal products
  • Consideration for interaction with Tetracyclines, Digoxine, Fluoroquinolone, Iron salt, Ketoconazole, and more

Contraindications

  • Known or suspected hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or excipients

  • Care with treating patients with hypercalcaemia and renal calculi
  • Not generally recommended for children under 12 years without medical advice
  • High sodium content in Gascon
  • Avoid in patients with phenylketonuria
  • Medical advice if symptoms persist for more than 7 days continuously
  • Masking of symptoms of serious underlying medical conditions
  • Avoid in patients with impaired renal function/insufficiency and with hypophosphatemia
  • Potential for allergic reactions
