Indications
- First-line treatment of metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
- Treatment for tumors with specific EGFR mutations
Pharmacology
- Reversibly inhibits EGFR kinase activity
- Prevents autophosphorylation of tyrosine residues
- Blocks downstream signaling
- Higher affinity for specific EGFR mutations
- Inhibits IGF and PDGF-mediated signaling
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dose of 250 mg orally once daily
- Can be taken with or without food
- Special administration for patients with difficulty swallowing solids
Interaction
- Interaction with CYP3A4 inducers

Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Gefitinib
