ATV Eze 20 mg+10 mg (Tablet)

Indications

• Reduction of elevated total cholesterol
• Reduction of LDL-C
• Reduction of triglycerides
• Increase in HDL-C
• Treatment for primary hyperlipidemia
• Treatment for homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia
• Adjunct to diet for atherosclerotic vascular disease

Pharmacology

• Plasma cholesterol and lipoprotein level lowering
• Increasing hepatic LDL receptors
• Reduction of LDL production
• Reduction of intestinal cholesterol absorption
• Inhibition of cholesterol synthesis in the liver

Dosage & Administration

• Dosage range of 10/10 mg to 80/20 mg daily
• Recommended starting dose of 10/10 mg or 20/10 mg daily
• Single dose administration
• Dosage adjustment based on lipid levels
• Dosage for patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia
• Contraindications for patients with hepatic or renal impairment

Interaction

• Increased risk of myopathy with concurrent administration of certain drugs
• Coadministration considerations with cyclosporine, gemfibrozil, niacin, digoxin, oral contraceptives, colchicine, and warfarin

Contraindications

• Active liver disease
• Unexplained persistent elevations of hepatic transaminase levels
• Hypersensitivity to any component

Side Effects

• Rhabdomyolysis
• Myopathy
• Liver enzyme abnormalities
• Myalgia
• Abdominal pain

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Contraindicated in pregnancy
• No benefit of lipid-lowering drugs during pregnancy
• Unknown excretion in human milk

• Cases of myopathy and rhabdomyolysis reported
• Caution with colchicine coadministration
• Liver enzyme test recommendations
• Caution with drugs affecting endocrine function
• Caution in pediatric patients
• No dosage adjustment in geriatric patients
