Indication
- Relief of signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis
Pharmacology
- Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)
- Exhibits anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic properties
Dosage & Administration
- Available in 500mg, 750mg, and 1000mg tablets
- Oral administration
- Recommended starting dose of 1000mg
- Maximum daily dosage of 2000mg
- Dosage adjustment for patients with renal insufficiency
Interaction
- Potential interaction with ACE-inhibitors reducing antihypertensive effect
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to nabumetone or its excipients
- History of asthma, urticaria, or allergic reactions to aspirin or other NSAIDs
- Contraindicated for peri-operative pain in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery

Precautions & Warnings
- Associated with renal papillary necrosis and abnormal renal pathology
- Avoid in patients with impaired renal function, heart failure, liver dysfunction, and those taking diuretics
- Recovery to pretreatment state upon discontinuation
Overdose Effects
- Symptoms include lethargy, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain
- Rare occurrence of hypertension, acute renal failure, respiratory depression, and coma
- Management by symptomatic and supportive care
- No specific antidotes
- Reports of overdose up to 25 grams with no long-term sequelae
